TRAFFIC AND CONSTRUCTION ALERTS

Access to southbound Castro Street toward Downtown from Central Expressway and Moffett Boulevard is now closed to vehicles.  Detour messages are posted on Moffett Boulevard and Central Expressway routing traffic onto Shoreline Boulevard to access downtown.  The closure will remain in effect until two weeks after the end of the City’s emergency declaration which is expected to occur sometime in 2021, for the Castro Summer StrEATs pilot.  This closure is a safety measure to prevent vehicles queuing up onto the Caltrain railroad tracks.  The bicycle and pedestrian crossings of Central Expressway and Caltrain tracks will remain open for bicycle and pedestrian access to Downtown and the Transit Center.  Outbound traffic on northbound Castro Street to Central Expressway will remain open.
