Interim Public Counter Operations

Due to the Santa Clara County Health Officer's Shelter-In-Place Order to limit the spread of COVID-19, the City of Mountain View's public counter and inspection services for Building, Fire, Planning, Public Works, and Housing have interim operations. To balance providing service with the safety of the community and city employees, the City has the following interim operations effective May 4, 2020 until further notice:

City Hall is closed through March 31, 2021 with no in-person counter services available.

Interim Public Counter Services Available

City Staff will respond to inquiries received within one business day, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Accepting all Building and Fire permits electronically
  • Conducting Building and Fire inspection services for construction activity
  • General inquiries can be emailed to building@mountainview.gov or call 650-903-6313.
