Public Safety Surrounding the Big Game

The Federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has stated it will be present for a “national security operation” related to SB 60. This has led people in the region to wonder whether the federal presence may include immigration enforcement. DHS has told local law enforcement that no immigration enforcement operations are currently planned in connection with SB 60 or related events.

Here in Mountain View, our Police Department does not participate in federal immigration enforcement, does not ask about immigration status, and protects the safety and rights of all who live, work, and visit in Mountain View. The City reaffirms its identity and commitment as a Community for All. We welcome all neighbors and visitors to join the City’s Fan Fest Tailgate celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2:00-5:00 p.m., in Downtown Mountain View and other Fan Fest events planned throughout the city.

• Text SBLX to 888-777 or go to alertscc.org to sign up for emergency alerts during the week of the Super Bowl.
  
  
• Public transit is a great way to avoid traffic and parking. The Mountain View Transit Center is a major transportation hub with Caltrain rail and Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA) light rail and bus services. The VTA Orange Line light rail connects passengers to the Levi Stadium stop and other South Bay locations.
