The City of Mountain View is a fantastic place to shop, dine, explore and play. It offers some of the finest recreation destinations in the Bay Area and is conveniently located on the San Francisco Bay Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose.

Mountain View enjoys an average of 106 days of clear skies each year. Daytime temperatures are moderate, often in the fifties and sixties in the winter and the seventies and eighties in the summertime.

Shoreline at Mountain View features 750-acres of regional recreation and wildlife open space and is home to a wildlife sanctuary that contains rare migratory birds. A network of trails, bridges and roadways weave through Shoreline Park for pedestrians, joggers, and bicyclists to enjoy. The area also offers a stunning eighteen-hole championship-level golf course with a full functioning clubhouse; Shoreline Amphitheatre that holds up to 25,000 people for musical performances, private functions and corporate events; and Shoreline Lake for kayaking and sailing, as well as a lakeside café with a full service restaurant.

Located at the entrance to the North Bayshore Business District on Shoreline Boulevard, is the Computer History Museum. The museum features fascinating exhibits about computer history, related technologies, and their relevance in modern life. Children and adults love to explore the interactive installations while discovering history they thought they knew.

The Center for the Performing Arts offers year-round theatrical and musical performances by renowned artists, troupes and performers. Booklovers are welcome to explore the 70,000 square foot state of the art Mountain View Library, which houses a 3-D printer, a seed bank, and a historical room as well as classes and events for children, youth and adults. Both facilities are built around the Downtown's Pioneer Park and Civic Center.

Downtown Mountain View is a pedestrian-orientated destination point, offering cuisines for every taste, as well as specialty shops, bookstores, coffeehouses, and sidewalk cafes. With lots of great parking, year round events such as the Farmer’s Market, the Arts and Wine Festival, the A La Carte & Art, and the City’s summer concert series provide a lively, fun and friendly environment.
