Provide safe, efficient, accessible, and environmentally sound transportation and roadway systems for pedestrians, transit, bicycles and vehicles.
Tasks
Working with the Mountain View Police Department to improve safety, managing and implementing Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) to reduce speed on residential streets, maintaining traffic control facilities and improving roadway striping and signage, and reviewing transportation impact analysis, traffic circulation plans, construction traffic control plans, and parking studies. Explaining traffic engineering codes and regulations to residents and businesses.
Residential Parking Permit (RPP) Program
The program is intended to provide relief for neighborhoods that are overburdened by overflow of nonresident parking. Residents who wish to consider permit parking may petition the City. Establishment of permit parking is accomplished through a multi-step process as detailed in the RPP Program guidelines.
