Holidays
Regular Collection Days
Collection occurs on all holidays except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. If your collection day falls on or after one of these holidays, collection will occur one day later that week. For example, for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday collection would be made on Friday, and Friday collection on Saturday. Holiday Tree Recycling
For residents with individual cart service, holiday trees will be collected at no charge on your compost collection day from December 26th until the third Friday in January. If your tree was set out properly (see the Holiday Flyer for complete set-out instructions) and not collected, please contact Recology Mountain View at 650-967-3034 or email ContactUsRMV@Recology.com .
Apartment managers and businesses may arrange for on-site tree collection services by calling Recology Mountain View at 650-967-3034.
Extra Holiday Trash and Recycling
Sometimes the holidays bring more waste than fits in your carts. If you are a resident with curbside cart service, visit the Extra Services and Tags page for more information about how to dispose of extra recycling and trash.
Holiday String Lights
Holiday string lights should not be placed in trash or recycling carts as they can become tangled and cause equipment damage and delays. String lights should instead be taken to the following locations free of charge.

Make a free drop-off appointment at HHW.org or call 408-299-7300.
Mail in to the Holiday LEDs recycling program, and receive a coupon to use on future HolidayLEDs.com light purchases.
On Call Plus Services & Vouchers
No On Call Plus appointments occur during the same period as Holiday Tree Collection, between December 26th and the third Friday in January. As an alternative, residents may ask for a Voucher to take items to the SMaRT Station during this time.

Missed Collection or Service Questions
Call Recology at 650-967-3034 or email ContactUsRMV@Recology.com . Missed collections due to driver error or truck breakdown may be collected the same day if the drivers are still on route, or the next business day. If a non-collection notice was left, please follow the instructions to correct it.
Recology Call Center
Please note that Recology's customer service office may be closed on other holidays throughout the year, but collection will occur except for the holidays mentioned above. If the office is closed when you call, you may leave a phone message so that Recology can return your call when the offices reopen.
