Shoreline Boulevard Pathway Improvements (Project 21-37)
The City of Mountain View will be reconstructing the Shoreline Boulevard pathway starting on May 4, 2026. The project will improve the existing pathway on Shoreline Boulevard between Villa Street and Wright Avenue to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements and will construct retaining walls, a new staircase, a connection to the sidewalk along Central Expressway, landscaping, and lighting.
Work will occur during normal working hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. During construction, pedestrians will be detoured to a temporary pedestrian path shared with bicyclists on Shoreline Boulevard, separated from vehicular traffic. There will be a temporary two-lane closure on Shoreline Boulevard in the northbound direction the week of May 4 to install barriers for the shared pathway. Following this, Shoreline Boulevard will be reduced from three lanes to two in the northbound direction for the duration of the project. Construction is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2027.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please call Granite Rock Company, General Contractor at 408-832-9697 or Mike Yeraka, Construction Manager at 925-451-2105.
South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Pond Project at Pond A1 - Material Import
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the California State Coastal Conservancy, and Ducks Unlimited will begin the initial construction phase of the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Pond Project at Pond A1, located immediately north of Shoreline Park and east of Charleston Slough. Pond A1 will be restored from open-water ponds enclosed by levees to tidal marsh by allowing sediment to settle in the pond so marsh plants can establish. The project will establish tidal marsh habitat, construct new habitat islands and improve existing levees. In this initial construction phase, the contractor will establish an access route and construct a new temporary access ramp at the northern limit of Shoreline Park, adjacent to the Bay Trail, for material transport to the project area in Pond A1.
Pond A1 Access Route
To access Pond A1, trucks will be traveling along San Antonio Road, onto Terminal Boulevard, and then into Shoreline Park on paved trails. Daily interruptions and closures to sections of Shoreline Park trails (including a section of the Bay Trail) are expected between 7:30 A.M and 4 P.M weekdays.
The Bay Trail and most Shoreline Park trails will be accessible when no hauling or construction is occurring. A short section of Shoreline Park trail will be closed during times when material is being actively delivered to the pond. Temporary signs and flaggers will be placed at the Bay Trail, at relevant Shoreline Park trails, and at the Terminal Boulevard entrance to manage truck traffic and trail user access.
When: December 2024, until Summer 2027

Slurry Sealing (various streets) – See attached notification/schedule for specific streets and times. Shortly prior to and shortly after the slurry seal, the contractor will be removing and installing pavement striping.
Streets to receive slurry seal:

NOTE: It is imperative that you follow the contractor’s “NO PARKING” signs. It may be necessary to have vehicles towed away if they are not moved during the posted times. Roads will be closed to traffic and traffic flow will be impeded during construction hours that day. The slurry will be wet when applied and will take a few hours for initial curing, after which pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be allowed. We recommend that you park your car on streets outside of the limit of work prior to the beginning of our scheduled work.
The slurry seal consists of crushed gravel mixed in an asphaltic emulsion. When the slurry seal has dried, approximately 10 percent of the gravel loosens from the street surface. The contractor will sweep up the loose gravel once a week for three consecutive weeks after the slurry seal is placed. The contractor will place “No Parking” signs before sweeping to remind you not to park on the street that day.
The contractor will maintain access at all times for emergency vehicles. If you need to use your car during the posted working times, we recommend you park on streets outside of the limit of work listed above prior to the beginning of our scheduled work as noted on the posted barricades. We also ask that you minimize your trips through the construction area. If you have any questions regarding this project, please call Graham Contractors Inc at (408) 293-9516 or Obbi Sharifi at the City of Mountain View at (650) 335-8838.
