Department Overview
The IT Department is responsible for planning, maintaining, and managing the City's computerized information systems and communications networks. Services include the following:
- Network infrastructure management
- Cyber security
- VoIP phone system
- Email administration
- Project management
- Desktop and help desk support
- Off-the-shelf application support
- Server maintenance and operations
- GIS development and support
- Vendor management
- Website development and support
Additionally, the IT Department staff supports various legacy systems, and explores opportunities to deploy updated technology in a variety of areas such as budget transparency, citizen engagement, permit tracking, library, public safety and geographic information systems.
The CIO and members of the department staff are members of the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC), a professional technology organization that serves to enhance local government services and effectiveness.
