For Emergency Services such as downed trees and large limb failure blocking streets or sidewalks between 8am-4pm please call 650-903-6273 or email trees@mountainview.gov.

The City's Urban Forestry Division prunes street trees based on their growth rate and ANSI pruning standards. The city may also trim trees for building, utility line, vehicle, and pedestrian clearance.

Street trees are owned by the property owner and are recorded in a city tree inventory database. The City assists in maintaining the trees through regular pruning. However, it is the property owner's responsibility to water, fertilize, and provide basic care to ensure the health of the trees. For street tree requests like pruning, inspections, removing broken or hanging branches, or general inquiries, email trees@mountainview.gov with your name, address, and issue, or call 650-903-6273.

For pruning private trees, the City recommends you visit www.canopy.org for a list of tree service professionals.
