The property features three separate lawn areas and two adjoining brick patios, ideal for hosting both ceremonies and outdoor receptions. The historic setting is enhanced by a picturesque windmill and water tower, offering memorable photography locations. Inside, guests will find refined Victorian details such as brass chandeliers, decorative rosettes, and period Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper. The neighboring lakeside area and wildlife preserve provide additional natural backdrops for portraits.

How to Reserve — Simple Steps

  1. Tour the Venue
    Take a 3D Tour of the Rengstorff House; take a Docent‑Led Historic Home Tour on public tour days, schedule a tour with the Rental Team, and/or visit the grounds any day of the week during non-rentals. 

  2. Review Rules & Complete the Rental Application
    Read the full rules/regulations and fill out the Rental Application. A detailed Renter’s Planning Packet is available to help with timelines and logistics.

  3. Submit Your Paperwork
    Send the application and required documents to:

  4. Confirm & Celebrate
    City staff will guide you through payments, deposits, insurance, and approved vendors so your date is locked in.


Policies & Requirements (The Essentials)

  • Advance Booking: Reservations must be made at least 60 business days before your event.

  • Event End Time: Music off and festivities ended by 11 p.m.; departure by 12 a.m.

  • Security Deposit & Janitorial Fee: Required for social gatherings.

  • Insurance: Required. You may purchase through the City or add the City of Mountain View as additionally insured on your policy. Be sure insurance conforms to the City’s Specific Insurance Requirements.

  • Vendors: Use the City’s Approved Vendor List for the easiest path (insurance already on file). Vendors providing on-site services must provide proof of insurance that meets the City’s requirements, including naming the City of Mountain View as Additional Insured, before the event date. Smaller vendors may be allowed with a completed waiver, as determined by the City.

  • Catering: Approved caterers welcomed; self‑catering permitted within guidelines. A modern warming/serving kitchen is available.
