Mountain View, CA
Home MenuWelcome From the Mayor of Mountain View
As Mayor of the City of Mountain View, I am honored to welcome you to our diverse and vibrant community at the core of Silicon Valley. Whether you live, work, or are visiting our city, it is our pleasure to assist you and help ensure that Mountain View feels like home. I especially value hearing directly from residents, whose ideas, experiences, and perspectives help shape the future of our city.
Mountain View is a community defined by its people. Our residents come from all walks of life and from all over the world, and that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. As the daughter of Filipino immigrants who came to the United States seeking a better life for their family, I am proud to serve a city that strives to be welcoming, inclusive, and rooted in opportunity. What makes our community great is not keeping people out, but cherishing our neighbors, whether they have lived here for generations or have just arrived.
While Mountain View is a mid-sized city, with a population of about 86,500, we play an important role on the global stage. We are a center of innovation in Silicon Valley, home to leading technology companies and startups, while also being a city that values strong neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown, an exceptional parks and trail system, and a rich calendar of community events. At the same time, we are committed to addressing the real challenges our residents face, including housing affordability, displacement, and climate resiliency, while continuing to build a true Community for All.
My focus as Mayor is on community engagement. I have always believed that government is simply a structure for the community to make decisions for themselves. Mountain View is an ambitious city with residents who care deeply about making things better. When people are engaged, informed, and involved, our city is stronger. I encourage residents to participate in neighborhood associations, city programs, advisory boards, nonprofit service organizations, and community groups, because service is how community comes alive.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as Mayor and to work alongside my colleagues, city staff, and, most importantly, our residents. Together, I am confident we can meet the challenges ahead and continue to make Mountain View one of the best cities to live, work, and call home.
Thank you for being part of our community.
