Detectives seeking additional victims following art teacher's arrest

After a brave young woman came forward regarding inappropriate touching by her art teacher, Mountain View detectives are asking our community to help identify further victims.

On March 15, officers received a call that a teenage girl who had been taking art classes with a man -- identified as Mountain View resident Oleg Tumasov -- was touched inappropriately by him on at least one occasion. The girl attended art classes at Tumasov’s studio – Tumasov Fine Art Studio and Gallery -- on the 800 block of West El Camino Real. Officers also learned that Tumasov teaches private tennis lessons in the area.

Officers quickly worked with Mountain View detectives to locate 55-year-old Tumasov, who was arrested without incident on March 16 just after 12 pm in Mountain View. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on lewd acts with a minor, sexual battery and annoying or molesting a child.

Based on our ongoing investigation, we are concerned there may be additional victims. We are here to help. Anyone who may be a victim or know someone who may be a victim can contact Detective Christine Powell at Christine.powell@mountainview.gov

Media inquiries can be sent to PIO Katie Nelson at policepio@mountainview.gov.
