Man arrested after exposing himself to walker on Stevens Creek Trail

A 21-year-old man was arrested Monday after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman who was walking on the Stevens Creek Trail.

Around noon on Nov. 21, Mountain View dispatchers received a call from a woman who stated that she was walking on the trail near Creekside Park when she turned around and saw a man standing next to her, exposing himself. The suspect, who did not speak to the victim, then continued walking on the trail. Officers were given a detailed description of the suspect and were dispatched to the trail to try and find him. After a brief search, one of our motor officers spotted the suspect walking northbound on the trail about to exit onto Moffett Boulevard.

The man, identified as 21-year-old Santa Clara resident Jose Lopez-Palacios, was detained and subsequently arrested for indecent exposure.

“We work daily to do all we can to keep our community safe,” said Captain Scott Nelson. “This was a great example of quick work by our patrol and traffic teams in locating the suspect.”
