Teen injured in fall in downtown parking structure

Mountain View detectives are investigating an incident after a 16-year-old fell nearly 20 feet in a parking structure Saturday night.

Around 7 pm on July 10, officers responded to the parking structure on the 800 block of California Street. Officers en route were told a teenager had fallen from the top floor of the parking structure to a lower floor and was not responsive.

Mountain View Fire Department personnel also responded to assist and the teenager was quickly taken to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

An investigation is underway, including whether alcohol or drugs may have been a factor. Preliminarily, it appears the fall was accidental. We will provide an update when we have more information.

We are asking that anyone who has any additional information on this case contact our Detective Angelica Espitia at angelica.espitia@mountainview.gov.
