MVPD arrest two while serving search warrant

Officers made two separate arrests Tuesday morning after a search warrant led them not only to a suspect in possession of sexually explicit images of a minor, but to a second man who was in a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Officers initially began their investigation into a home on the 200 block of Escuela Avenue in September 2020 after they received a tip from Facebook that someone at that address was sharing sexually explicit videos and photos of an underage girl. Detectives immediately began to investigate further, and over the course of the subsequent months gathered information to confirm that a man, identified as 18-year-old Mountain View resident Ismael Dominguez, was the individual utilizing the Facebook account to subsequently both look at and share explicit images of underage girls.

Officers executed a search warrant of the home on Escuela Avenue early Jan. 12, and while they were conducting a search of the home, learned that a second male at the residence was in a relationship with an underage girl. That man has been identified as 21-year-old Maximino Juarez of Mountain View.

Dominguez was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. Juarez was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

We wanted to let you know that moving forward, we will use the term “child sexual abuse material” when discussing cases that involve the term “child pornography.” Particularly when children are involved, the explicit images convey abuse. When this horrific treatment is brought to light, and it is shared and viewed, it is a crime. We also recognize that terms such as "kiddy porn" and "child porn" are used by criminals and we do not want to legitimize that language.

At this time, detectives do not believe there are additional victims related to Juarez’s arrest.
