Teenager arrested in connection with Christmas Day stabbing

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Christmas Day.

On Friday, Dec. 25, around 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing on the 500 block of Toff Street. When officers arrived, they were redirected to a home in the area where the victim had returned following the incident.

In speaking with the victim, a teenage male, we learned that he had been stabbed multiple times in the back by a suspect who had approached the victim following a dispute the two were involved in.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment for his injuries and was subsequently released.
Through a follow-up investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect and arrest him. We are not releasing his name, age, or city of residence as he is a minor.

The weapon involved in the stabbing was recovered.

The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon.
