We know you’re ready to explore our newest parks in Mountain View, Wyandotte Park and Evandale Park. So are we.
While they look ready to open to the public, they’re not. Over at Evandale Park, contractors are still putting on the finishing touches and completing their punch list work. Last week, sod was installed at Wyandotte Park with the contractor still working on installing a few additional elements to the parks. For both parks, the City of Mountain View is also required to install additional playground safety features before they can open.
The good news is we only have to wait a few weeks longer to have some fall fun in these parks. Granted, it’ll be a modified version of fun as social distancing of at least six feet, wearing face coverings and practicing other public health protocols are necessary for community members to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City anticipates Wyandotte Park, located at 2254 Wyandotte St., to hold its virtual grand opening first in late October at the earliest followed by the opening of Evandale Park, located at Evandale Avenue and Piazza Drive, a few weeks later.
