Officers are currently looking to identify the driver in a dark-colored sedan that hit a teenage bicyclist, leaving him injured in the roadway, and drove away from the scene immediately after the collision.
Around 7:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to Central Expressway and Moffett Boulevard for reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. When we arrived, we found a teenage bicyclist lying in the roadway, being assisted by good samaritans who stopped to help.
The bicyclist has been transported to an area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Patrol teams are out looking for the sedan, which is believed to likely have a broken passenger side tail light. The car was last seen driving away from the scene on Central Expressway towards Shoreline Boulevard.
