MVPD looking to identify suspects in auto burglaries

Mountain View police are looking for help in identifying a suspect or suspects connected to a slew of auto burglaries in the Whisman Station neighborhood sometime Monday night.

Sometime between the late night hours of October 28 and the early morning hours of October 29, roughly 20 vehicles had their windows smashed along Ferguson Drive near Pyramid Way. Officers have been able to identify that in some cases, electronics were taken. However, we are waiting to hear back from all vehicle owners to learn what else, if anything, was taken.

Officers arrived on scene earlier this morning and left contact information with, or interviewed, residents that were impacted.

Please note, we are in the very early stages of this investigation, and as such, are still gathering facts and information. When we are able, we will release more as it becomes available.

We are asking at this time if anyone has any home security footage that they would be willing to share with us that may have captured the suspect or suspects, or the mode of transportation (vehicle, bike, etc.) that they may have used, as they entered and left the area. Anyone who has any information on the case is encouraged to reach out to Detective David Shen at David.shen@mountainview.gov.

Media inquiries can be sent to PIO Katie Nelson at poliepio@mountainview.gov.
