Weekend events may impact Mountain View traffic

We wanted to make you aware of upcoming weekend events that may impact traffic in several areas of the city.

First and foremost, this weekend marks the annual Art + Wine Festival in downtown Mountain View along Castro Street. The event runs from Saturday, Sept. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please note, signs have been posted in the downtown area that will prevent folks from parking along Castro or on certain side streets starting tomorrow and lasting until Monday morning. This is to allow vendors to come in and set up safely and ensure that the area is secure for all participants at the event.

As such, please anticipate some delays in and around the downtown area.

Also on Saturday, Sept. 7, Dierks Bentley will host fans at Shoreline Amphitheatre. While the event is not sold out at this time, we do anticipate a crowd and potential traffic delays along North Shoreline Boulevard. Doors for the event open around 5 p.m., and gates for the show open around 6 p.m.

A KidzBop show at Shoreline Amphitheatre on Sunday is not anticipated to impact traffic.

No matter which event you may plan spending your weekend at, please ensure that you enjoy your weekend safely.

If you plan on heading to the Art + Wine Festival, and you plan on enjoying some alcoholic beverages with others, please designated a sober driver, or call a ride share or taxi, or utilize public transportation to get you home. Please, ensure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and ensuring you also eat appropriately.

We will be out working to try and ensure everyone gets to and from all of these events safely.
