Chris Hsiung promoted to Deputy Police Chief
It is our honor to announce that Chris Hsiung has been promoted to the role of Deputy Police Chief for the Mountain View Police Department.
This position, newly created as part of this year’s budget process, will mean Deputy Chief Hsiung will play a crucial role for us. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, he will be key in the leadership efforts for staff development, succession planning, and maintaining MVPD’s role as a progressive law enforcement organization in the 21st century.
“Chris models our City’s values and organizational priorities that reflects an authentic desire to make us better, within the MVPD family and for the community we serve and protect,” said Chief Max Bosel.
Deputy Chief Hsiung brings nearly 30 years of public safety experience to his new role, with 24 of those years as a peace officer with the Mountain View Police Department. He most recently served as our Captain in our Investigative Services Division, and has over his career here with Mountain View PD been recognized not just for his incredible police work, but for his efforts in areas of community engagement, social media, and crisis communication.
Deputy Chief Hsiung will operate out of the Office of the Chief. His new role became effective Monday, July 28.
“I am honored to continue to serve the city of Mountain View; my commitment to the safety and protection of our residents, business community, and those who work and play in Mountain View stands strong,” Deputy Chief Hsiung stated. “We are a vibrant and diverse community, and to be a part of that in this capacity is truly humbling.”
Please join us in congratulating Deputy Chief Hsiung on his new role.
