Police are looking to speak with any additional victims of a man who exposed himself to a runner on the Stevens Creek Trail last week.
On Wednesday, June 12, around 8:30 p.m., a woman was running northbound on the trail near Central Avenue when she saw a man, later identified as 38-year-old Erich Eminhizer, step out from the bushes. The victim was unsure of what Eminhizer was doing at the time, but continued to run on. However, after running a short distance, the woman began to feel nervous and turned around. She then spotted Eminhizer, who had been walking slightly behind her. As the woman approached him, Eminhizer then pulled his shorts aside and exposed himself, according to the victim.
The victim called us immediately, and we spotted and detained Eminhizer as he was exiting the trail at Central Avenue. The victim positively identified Eminhizer as the man who had exposed himself and signed a citizen’s arrest form for indecent exposure. Eminhizer was subsequently transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
In addition to this case, police are looking into whether Eminhizer was in the area during an incident in which a man tried to pull down a woman's shorts on the trail on June 3. More on that case can be found here. If anyone saw Eminhizer in the area during that incident, please let us know. The contact information for the detective assigned to both incidents is below.
Anyone who may have been a victim, or who may know a victim, of Eminhizer is encouraged to reach out to Detective Robert Medina at firstname.lastname@example.org. Media inquiries can be sent to PIO Katie Nelson at email@example.com.
