MVPD seeking additional victims in case involving lewd acts with minor

Mountain View detectives are looking for additional victims after a man met an underage girl on an adult dating site and engaged in inappropriate behavior with her.

Around 2 a.m. on Monday, May 13, Sunnyvale officers responded to reports of a missing 12-year-old girl from a home in Sunnyvale. As officers were investigating the incident, they learned that the girl had been communicating via text message with someone who lived at a home on the 500 block of Chesley Court in Mountain View. Mountain View officers responded to the home and intercepted 46-year-old Sean Muilenburg as he was returning from dropping the girl off a short distance away from her home in Sunnyvale.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned the pair had allegedly met on an adult dating site and exchanged cell phone numbers. We are not naming the dating site at this time. Sometime after they exchanged numbers, Muilenburg picked the girl up at a Sunnyvale park, drove her to his home, and allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with her.

Mountain View officers arrested Muilenburg for rape of a child under 14 years of age and lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 years of age. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

Mountain View detectives, based on how the man communicated with the girl, are concerned there may be additional victims. If you or someone you know may be a victim of Muilenburg, please contact Detective Temo Gonzalez at temo.gonzalez@mountainview.gov.
