What to do with all that paper after tax day?

It's tax day, Mountain View! Which means you may have a lot of paper lying around your home after completing all of your necessary paperwork.

You may be asking -- where can you safely dispose of all that paper that may contain private, identifying information?

We have an option for you!

On April 27, we will be hosting a Shred Event right here at 1000 Villa Street from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to help safely and swiftly dispose of any paper you may like to shred. Please note, folks are asked to bring no more than two bags of paper. Also, we will not be able to shred x-rays or binders. We will also not be able to recycle electronics. So please, leave those at home! If you'd like to look for ways to recycle electronics, see here!

That same day, we will also be participating in the DEA's National Drug Take Back Day. There will be no limit on how many unwanted or unused prescription medications you can bring in that day. You can also bring in hypodermic needles you'd like to dispose of -- we will take those off of your hands.

Can't make it that weekend, but would like to know when/ where you may be able to recycle paper? Check out more information here!

Have questions about the Shred Event on April 27? No problem! Just email PIO Katie Nelson at policepio@mountainview.gov.

See you then, Mountain View.
