Fatal collision on Charleston Road

We wanted to provide our community with an update on the fatal collision involving a female pedestrian Monday evening.

We sincerely apologize for the delay in this release.

Around 6:45 p.m., Mountain View officers responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of Charleston Road and Huff Avenue involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived on scene and immediately began to perform CPR on a woman lying in the roadway. Despite efforts by both MVPD officers and Mountain View firefighters, the woman, who is in her 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The vehicle involved in the collision, a Google bus, remained on scene and the driver of the bus is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Charleston at Huff remained closed until approximately 4 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning while our teams investigated the collision.

Please note, this is still very much an active investigation, and we will release additional details as we are able. We are asking for any additional witnesses to the collision to please contact Officer Kevin Solomon at kevin.solomon@mountainview.gov.

Any media inquiries can be directed to PIO Katie Nelson at policepio@mountainview.gov.
