MVPD searching for alleged bank robber

Mountain View, do you recognize this man?

On Friday, Oct. 19, around 5:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Meriwest Credit Union, located on the 500 block of N. Rengstorff Avenue.

When we arrived, employees told us that a man walked up to a bank teller and presented a demand note, which included mention of a gun. Employees then told us the man displayed what appeared to be a hand gun before leaving the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen walking out of the bank into the Monta Loma Plaza, the shopping center where the bank is located.

The suspect is described as a white adult man in his mid 40s or mid 50s, roughly 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and with a clean-cut goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark blue track suit with a Navy insignia on the sweatshirt and “Navy” written down the right leg of the sweat pants.

Anyone with any information on this case, including the identity of this man, can contact Detective Dan Garcia at dan.garcia@mountainview.gov. Any media inquiries should be directed to PIO Katie Nelson at policepio@mountainview.gov.
