MVPD asking for witnesses to come forward in Sports Page incident

UPDATE: Tracy resident Gerardo Munoz, 31, has been arrested on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of driving under the influence causing bodily injury.

We are still seeking witnesses to this incident, particularly those who witnessed the aftermath of the collision. If anyone has any information, or if witnesses would like to come forward, please call Det. Dan Garcia at 650-903-6624.

Mountain View, we are asking for your help in locating witnesses who were at or who saw an incident occur at the Sports Page early this (Saturday) morning.

An early morning argument at the Sports Page bar resulted in a man driving his car at two people, pinning one of them beneath it.

Around 2:00 am, Mountain View officers responded to the bar, located on the 1000 block of Plymouth Street, for reports of a vehicle collision.

When we arrived, we learned that a man and a woman had allegedly gotten into an argument with another man inside the Sports Page before attempting to leave. Once outside in the parking lot, the suspect with whom the pair had allegedly argued got into his vehicle and then drove at the pair. The suspect then allegedly hit the man and the woman, resulting in the woman being pinned beneath the vehicle as the suspect then attempted to drive away.

Immediately following the collision, bystanders allegedly removed the suspect from the car and proceeded to attack him. Other bystanders also flipped the vehicle over to remove the trapped woman. All three individuals suffered injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

This case is still under active investigation, and as such, we are not releasing the extent of injuries or the names of any individuals involved at this time. Because many of the bystanders and witnesses left the area prior to our arrival, we are asking for your help in having them come forward to provide additional information.

If anyone has information on this incident, please contact Detective Dan Garcia at 650-903-6624.

We will release additional details as they become available. We thank you in advance for your patience.
