A male motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a commuter bus late Wednesday afternoon.
No one else was injured.
Our officers responded to reports of a collision that was reported just before 5:20 pm at the intersection of Shoreline Boulevard and Plymouth Street. When we arrived on scene, the motorcyclist was found unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. We can confirm that the bus involved in the collision was contracted with Google to provide transportation to employees.
Northbound traffic was diverted at Pear Avenue and southbound traffic was turned around at Space Park Way. Traffic investigators responded to the scene, and the roadway was reopened shortly before 1 am Thursday.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation. Please note, these investigations do take time, and as information becomes available, we will let you know.
