MVPD needs your help identifying man who fired shots in downtown

We are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who fired shots in downtown Mountain View early Sunday morning.

No one was injured.

Around 2:10 am on Nov. 26, we received a call about a fight in progress in the area of Villa and Castro streets. While we were in the area, officers heard several gunshots fired nearby in the area of Villa and Bryant streets. We immediately responded to the area, and were told by witnesses that a man had fired into the air and then drove away from the area in a burgundy Toyota Tundra. Casings were recovered at the scene. It is unclear if the shots that were fired were related to the call we initially responded to, as we did not encounter anyone who was in fight when we arrived.

The vehicle, and the man, were last seen heading southbound on Bryant Street. The suspect is described as a Hispanic adult in his 20s, roughly 6 feet tall with a slim build. He had a trimmed beard and slick, black hair.

We are actively investigating this incident, and we are asking that anyone with any additional information on this incident or anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the suspect to call Det. Dan Garcia at 650-903-6624. Please reference case #17-07944.
