Missing infant Madilyn Wallin found safe, father still at large

UPDATE: At 11:30 am, we were notified by Livermore Police that Madilyn had been found safe with her paternal grandmother in Livermore. The pair were subsequently brought to the Livermore Police Department, and Madilyn has been reunited with her mother. Madilyn's father, Michael Wallin, however, is still at-large.

We need your help finding 4-month-old Madilyn Wallin after she was taken by her father, Michael Wallin, last night.

Around 8:30 pm Tuesday, 45-year-old Wallin, a resident of Patterson, Calif., was visiting with Madilyn and her mother at the Residence Inn in Mountain View. At some point during the visit, an argument between Madilyn’s mother and Wallin ensued, and Wallin began to drive off with the baby, who was sitting in his lap. This caused Madilyn’s mother to be dragged by the car a short distance before she was able to break free. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured.

The adult son of Madilyn’s mother followed Wallin, who was driving a blue, four-door, 2007 Nissan Altima with paper plates. At some point, Wallin “brake-checked” the adult son, causing him to collide with Wallin’s vehicle. Wallin then drove off, still with Madilyn sitting in his lap in the driver’s seat. He did not have a car seat in his vehicle at the time of the abduction.

We are extremely concerned for Madilyn’s safety, and we would like to get her safely home. She is described as 4-months-old, roughly 15 pounds and 2 feet tall. She has blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her father, suspect Michael Wallin, is a white adult man with brown hair and brown eyes and he has distinctive tattoos all across his torso.

An Amber Alert has been issued to help find Madilyn and bring her safely home. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Wallin or Madilyn, please contact us immediately at 650-903-6395. If you see either of them, call 911 immediately.
