Street Sweeping Schedule

Twice a month, the Public Works Department provides each neighborhood with street cleaning services.  Some areas are swept more frequently so check the street sweeping map and the table below for streets signed for Clean Sweeps.

  • Using your compost cart (formerly yard trimmings) as much as possible to dispose of leaves that fall on your property.  Visit www.mountainview.gov/yardtrimmings for free extra collection services or call Recology at (650) 967-3034.
  • Moving your vehicle off the street before 6:00 a.m. on your sweep day.
  • Removing objects such as tree branches, rocks and basketball hoops from the street.
  • Sweepers can only pick up leaves that fall in the roadway if they are away from the curb, and less than 12 inches high and 3 feet wide.
  • Leaves left in piles in the roadway will not be picked-up unless you are in the special street sweeping zones.  Call (650) 903-6329 for more information.

If your sweeping day falls on a holiday, service will continue on the next regularly scheduled sweeping day.  Call (650) 903-6329 for assistance in determining your area or enter your address in the search box below.

Thank you for helping us make a clean sweep through Mountain View.

There are six streets listed below that receive extra street sweeping.  Pursuant to Mountain View City Code 19.92.4, parking, stopping or standing a vehicle is prohibited in these locations for street cleaning at the day(s) and hours set forth on the signs posted.
