Health and Wellness

The City actively participates in regional, state, and federal initiatives that support mental health, suicide prevention, reduce tobacco usage and encourage healthy and active living in our communities. Mountain View offers a number of widely recognized health programs for City employees as well as numerous community efforts that strive to promote health and wellness.  With over 40 miles of safe street bikeways, over 8 miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails, and farmers markets, community gardens and 37 parks, Mountain View is a prime example of a community that enables accessibility to healthy choices and active living.

Americans with disabilities act - ADA

Since 1990, the City of Mountain View has worked diligently to comply with ADA by providing employment accessibility; ensuring accessibility to City programs and services; and ensuring that newly constructed or renovated City facilities are accessible to the disabled. Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties

Cities, Towns and Counties (LMCTC) is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s comprehensive Let’s Move! initiative, which is dedicated to reversing the childhood obesity epidemic within a generation. The City of Mountain View, has received four gold medals and one silver medal in Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties and is currently at rank #2 among the nearly 450 cities, towns and counties participating in the initiative.
