Mountain View Public Library is proud of its many wonderful and talented volunteers. We rely on volunteers to assist us with sorting and organizing books, helping with library programs, and many other tasks.
The minimum age requirement for volunteers is 13.
Volunteers age 13 – 17 must fill out an online application then print it so their parents can sign the application and give their consent. Volunteers 18 years of age or over must complete a fingerprinting process through the Mountain View Police Department. There is no cost to volunteers.

Children’s Services is looking for an artistic volunteer that can draw free hand to create coloring pages & flannel board designs to use in our pre-school programs.
Commitment: The schedule is very flexible and we can accommodate just about any time that works for you!
For students in grades 6 through 12.

Japanese and French speakers, we need your talents! Mountain View Public Library is looking for Japanese and French speakers to assist with our Language Swap program. We meet every Tuesday, 7:00-8:30PM for fun and conversation.
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. You will be asked to attend every Tuesday, 7:00-8:30PM to have casual conversation with people learning Japanese/French. There's no required prep or any additional work outside that one and a half hours a week.
Commitment: Ideal candidates will be able to commit to volunteering weekly, on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm. However, if you are only available for a portion of the program, please still apply.
