The Library offers free eBooks for all ages. Borrow eBooks, digital audiobooks and magazines through the Library's catalog or directly through these services.

Hoopla Digital

hoopla digital is a free digital service for movies, television shows, music, audiobooks, comics, and eBooks. Library patrons can instantly stream or temporarily download items to their smartphones, tablets and computers. With hoopla, there is no waiting list; you can borrow any titles in the collection by downloading the free app or visiting and creating an account with your library card. Mountain View Library cardholders can check out 4 titles per month.


Overdrive iconOur largest collection of free downloadable eBooks and audiobooks is OverDrive's Northern California Digital Library. Mountain View Public Library cardholders have access to additional titles that shorten your wait time. 

Ebsco Host

ebsco ebooks EBSCOhost eBooks & eAudiobooks collections ebooks covering children's fiction and non-fiction, classic literature, business, technology and other non-fiction subjects.
New users of EBSCOHost must create an account to access eBooks. If you have an existing My EBSCOHost account, your exiting account will support ebooks on EBSCOHost. You need to download and install Adobe Digital Editions, get an Adobe ID, and authorize your computer to be able to read EBSCO eBooks offline. 


Enki eBook Library

The enki Library is an open source eBook collection with thousands of titles. Enki books can be read online or downloaded to a computer or device. Adobe Digital Editions & Adobe ID may be required.
