Current Library Services

Based on guidelines issued by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department to curtail the spread of COVID-19, the Mountain View Public Library is closed until further notice. During this period, we will continue to assess this developing situation.

UPDATE (05/22/2020): The City of Mountain View Library Services Department staff are working diligently to plan for "Grab & Go Holds." Certain safety supplies and resources are required before we can begin this service. As you know, items such as sneeze guards and sanitizing wipes are in high demand. Staff have been sheltering in place for two months so we have much work to do to prepare for this service, such as shelving all of the books and materials returned during this time. Once we have received all of the needed resources and supplies, and we have fully trained our Library staff on safety protocols, we will begin the "Grab & Go Holds" service.

Our anticipated start date is mid-June, which is comparable with our neighboring libraries. In the meantime, customers can begin placing holds on physical items using their Library accounts. Our librarians are telecommuting and available to talk to you about book recommendations, and reading levels and suggestions for kids. Contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We recommend utilizing all of our wonderful digital resources and virtual programs. Please continue to check this page for details and updates.
