Shoreline’s meadowlands, habitat areas and wetlands are home to abundant wildlife. Discover Shoreline’s environment with a self-guided interpretive sign system and environmental docent-led walks program. Extensive wetlands include two tidal marshes, two sloughs, a seasonal marsh and storm retention basin, two creeks and five irrigation reservoirs on the golf course.
Shoreline At Mountain View offers a series of volunteer-run events that highlight the tremendous resources available within this 750-acre wildlife and recreation area. Whether you are interested in a more leisurely and educational experience, or a more brisk walk, our volunteers have something to share with you.
Environmental Docent-Led Walks for groups is a great opportunity to learn about the area's unique maritime history; landfill legacy; unique ecosystems; environmental resources; birds, wildlife and more.
Pre-registration is required for all our Shoreline at Mountain View walks, talks and events.
Contact Shoreline about availability and schedule a walk with your group (of six or more) by emailing shoreline.docent.walks@mountainview.gov or calling (650) 903-6073.
For the tour, wear/bring layered clothing, walking shoes, binoculars, and an enthusiastic attitude to share with others while out on the trail.
