Teen Summer Volunteer Opportunities

 

The Recreation Division is proud to present teen summer volunteer opportunities serving our Deer Hollow Farm and Summer Camp programs. All teen summer volunteer opportunities are free of cost to participants. Age limits vary depending on program. See below for descriptions on each program and how you can apply.

Deer Hollow Farm Interns: Deer Hollow Farm Interns will assist staff during Deer Hollow Farm Wilderness Camps with a variety of activities. Activities include teaching campers about the farm and garden, leading songs and games, exploring the wilderness preserve, and  improving leadership skills all while having a fun summer with youth!

Junior Leaders: Junior Leaders is a fun, dynamic, and skill building program that combines advanced training with a service opportunity. After training, Junior Leaders will join City of Mountain View summer camps to engage with youth, lead activities, and shadow staff. Complete the below application by April 30, 2021.

Virtual JUNIOR LEADER Information Night

During the Virtual Information Night, teens and their guardians can speak with Recreation Staff about Junior Leader training requirements, on-the-job duties and the application process. The Junior Leader program has been running for decades in the City of Mountain View as a way of teaching responsibility and service to others while gaining valuable work experience for future jobs.
