mountain view whisman school district - Monta loma Outdoor Improvements Project

The Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD) Board of Trustees approved Carducci Associates on September 9, 2021 as the architectural design firm for the Monta Loma Outdoor Improvements Project. MVWSD and City of Mountain View staff have worked together to develop the design process and hold multiple meetings to hear community input. The goal is to receive all input to create a comprehensive design that provides for many school and community uses.

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Carducci Associates held a virtual community meeting that provided an outline for the public input process that would begin in January, starting with focus groups. To date, the following focus group meetings have been completed including:

  • City Staff focus group: This meeting was with members of the City’s Community Services Department.
  • School focus group: This meeting was with school staff and parents.
  • City Recreation Leagues focus group: This meeting was with city sports group users.
  • Seniors focus group:  This meeting was with adult 55 years of age or older.
  • Families focus group: This meeting was with families with young children. 
  • Neighborhood focus group: This is a meeting for regular Monta Loma site users who live in an adjacent neighborhood.

Community members are invited to participate in a series of virtual, public input meetings, including: 

  • Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10 a.m.
  • Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10 a.m.
  • Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10 a.m.
  • Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10 a.m.

To sign-up for a focus group or public input meeting, please visit https://mvwsd.org/MontaLomaFieldIn addition to public meetings, the MVWSD Board of Trustees will receive updates from Carducci Associates. City staff is working with Carducci Associates to schedule times to provide City Council with project updates, including written and in-person presentations, throughout the project process. In addition, staff will include updates in the City Hall Connection, a bimonthly eNewsletter, as needed.
