On Saturday, October 29, 2022, Mountain View’s Rengstorff Park will transform into a ghoulish good time for all ages with the return of MONSTER BASH. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., community members are encouraged to don their favorite costumes and enjoy a fall festival loaded with a twisty maze, spooky games, enchanting performances, stilt walkers, inflatables, creepy, crawly, ooey gooey zone, Dia de Muertos exhibit and more.
This event is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available at the Mountain View Community Center and Senior Center. Walking, biking or public transit to the event is highly encouraged. This event is sponsored by the Mountain View Voice.
New this year, Monster Bash will feature a bike circus! Bring your bicycles to the event for fun bike safety training for children, as well as free bike repairs valued at more than $100 - to be provided on a first-come first-served basis. Get your helmet and bike checked and ride our scary fun bicycle course! No bike, no problem! Attendees can also practice their safe walking skills at circus.
Monster Bash is honored to host a special tribute to Día de Muertos! Located in the Community Center's Redwood Hall, attendees will be able to visit the cultural exhibit to learn about the holiday's meaning and traditions. Learn from community members why these items are significant to Día de Muertos and the history that surrounds the annual holiday. Attendees can also expect to see iconic skeleton figurines, brightly colored flowers and decorative items that often don traditional ofrendas.
Keep your eyes peeled at the event for special roaming entertainment, including a stiltwalker and unicycling juggler! You can also expect to see a visit from the special Bay Area Ghostbusters and the local Storm Troopers chapter.
In 2022, Monster Bash will be highlighting the wild and sometimes spooky elements of nature. In the Creepy, Crawly, Ooey Gooey area, you will find exhibits from the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center, Safari Encounters and a sensory zone. In addition to the displays, animal handlers will be on-site with certified education animals, including a Great Horned Owl and Turkey Vulture.
Don't miss a RANGE of entertainment throughout the event.
