El Camino Hospital Campus Update

In 2014, El Camino Hospital submitted an application to update the existing hospital campus located at 2500 Grant Road in the El Camino Medical Park Precise Plan area. The proposed project includes the demolition of an existing 16,000 square foot Behavioral Health Building, a 260,000 square foot Old Main Hospital building, a 87,500 square foot North Addition building, and removal of 220 surface parking stalls in order to construct:

  • a 2-story, 56,000 square foot Behavioral Health Building;
  • a 7-story, 265,000 square foot Medical Office Building (MOB);
  • a 5-level, 390-stall parking structure adjacent to the new medical building;
  • a 4-level, 430-stall addition to the existing 4-level North Garage parking structure; and
  • removal of 43 heritage trees and relocation of 15 heritage trees.

The project was introduced at a City Council study session on February 10, 2015, where an initial description of the project was provided (see Staff Report - Item 3.1).

On June 22, 2016, the City Council approved the El Camino Hospital Campus Update project (see Staff Report - Item 6.1):
