On November 10, 2015, the City Council adopted an ordinance to increase the minimum wage in Mountain View to $15.00 per hour by 2018 according to the schedule below. Beginning on January 1, 2019, the minimum wage will adjust annually based upon the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose regional Consumer Price Index (CPI). The ordinance’s effective dates of January 1 were adopted in an effort to have regional consistency with the existing minimum wage effective dates in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and Palo Alto, and pave a regional path for $15.00 per hour that other cities may join. The new ordinance went into effect 30 days after adoption, which was on December 10, 2015.
