(Mountain View, Calif.) — The City of Mountain View will begin the renovation of the Mountain View Community Center in August. In preparation of the renovation, the Community Center will be closed starting Saturday, August 12 and services will be moved to other City locations. The renovation work is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
As of Monday, August 14, Front Desk and Reservation Services will be moved to the Mountain View Senior Center at 266 Escuela Ave. All Fall classes and programs will be moved to alternative City facilities, and their new locations are noted in the Fall Activity Guide class information. The City’s Preschool Tot Time and Playschool Programs will also be moved to The View Teen Center at 263 Escuela Ave.
Once renovations are complete, the new Community Center will include more than 6,000 square feet of additional interior space, a brand new Social Hall for up to 250 guests, two fitness and dance rooms, and four multi-purpose rooms. A new Preschool Room will also be included. The renovation is expected to expand the programs and services currently offered in response to our growing community.
