(Mountain View, Calif.) — The City of Mountain View is now accepting applications for the Rental Housing Committee created under Measure V, also known as the Community Stabilization and Fair Rent Act (CSFRA), through 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20. In addition, the City will hold informational meetings for tenants and landlords starting mid-December.

Per voter-approved Measure V, the Committee will be made up of five volunteers and one alternate, who are charged with the task of implementing Measure V including, establishing the rules and enforcement of the CSFRA, setting rents at fair and equitable levels and determining the annual general rent adjustment. Of those Committee members appointed, no more than two members may own or manage any rental properties, be realtors or be developers. Applications and a more extensive list of duties are available at MountainView.gov/MeasureV.

In addition, City staff will hold four upcoming informational sessions about CSFRA and the recently Council-adopted Urgency Ordinance on Just Cause Eviction provisions. Tenants can learn more about it on Monday, December 12 and Thursday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mountain View Senior Center (266 Escuela Ave.). Landlords can learn more about CSFRA on Monday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Adobe Building (157 Moffett Blvd.) or Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mountain View Senior Center (266 Escuela Ave.). Additionally, office hours will be available twice a week (Mondays 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Thursdays noon-2:00 p.m.) on a walk-in basis at City Hall beginning November 28 to provide information or to help answer questions. Office hours will be located on the first floor of City Hall in the Public Works Department.
