(Mountain View, Calif.) — After an extensive search that yielded over 90 applicants, City Manager Dan Rich has announced the appointment of Mountain View’s new Assistant City Manager, Audrey Seymour Ramberg. She replaces Melissa Stevenson Diaz, who resigned in September to become City Manager in Redwood City.
Ramberg has 20 years of local government experience on the Peninsula. She currently serves as the Finance Director in Redwood City, and has previously served as that city’s Assistant City Manager. Earlier in her career, she served seven years as the Assistant City Manager in Menlo Park and has also worked for Palo Alto and San Mateo County.
“I have watched Audrey’s career develop over the years and have always been impressed by her accomplishments and professionalism. I am so pleased we will have the benefit of her many talents here in Mountain View,” said Rich.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to join my home city’s management team. Mountain View has a well-deserved reputation as an excellent organization. I am looking forward to being part of it; serving a community that I love.” said Ramberg.
The Assistant City Manager reports to the City Manager and oversees the City Manager’s Office and Human Resources; serves as the Acting City Manager in his absence; and works on a wide variety of complex and interdepartmental projects. Ramberg will have a starting annual salary of $215,000 and will start with the City on February 8, 2016.
Ramberg has a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University and a MBA from Stanford University. She is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. Ramberg is a Mountain View resident; where she lives with her daughter who attends a local public school.
