(Mountain View, Calif.) — Through a partnership with Santa Clara County to add more testing sites to north county locations, a free COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit will be available on Monday, May 25 for a one-day, pop-up testing event. The mobile testing unit will be at the Rengstorff Park Aquatic Center (201 S. Rengstorff Ave.) in Mountain View from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The testing is free to everyone and does not require any insurance, appointments, documentation or pre-registration. Drive-ups, bike-ups or walk-ups are all welcome.

"I am very pleased that we will be having a COVID-19 testing site in Mountain View after our ongoing conversations with Santa Clara County to give more access to testing sites. I appreciate Santa Clara County's responsiveness in partnering with us to make this site happen at our City's Aquatic Center lot. Our City staff has been working closely with the County on the logistics, and will also be providing on-site assistance the day of the event. This Memorial Day pop-up testing site is one of several new testing locations and programs that the City and the County have been working on to give north county community members more access to testing.”

Because more businesses are reopening, the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health is encouraging more people to get tested. People over 60, people with pre-existing health conditions and people who have been around someone who has tested positive, should continue to get tested. In addition, anyone who has frequent contact with members of the public through healthcare work, food services (restaurants and grocery) or any other essential services, is encouraged to get tested monthly. Anyone who works in the long term healthcare or skilled nursing facility is encouraged to be tested every two weeks.
