San Jose man arrested in connection with commercial burglaries

Post Date:01/17/2022

A San Jose man has been arrested in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in Mountain View that took place over the holiday season.

Between November and December of 2021, Mountain View Crime Suppression Unit detectives began investigating several commercial burglaries throughout the city. Over the course of two months, the team worked tirelessly, and ultimately was able to identify 43-year-old San Jose resident Anthony Deanda as a suspect in the crimes.

On Jan. 12, Crime Suppression Unit detectives, along with our Crimes Against Persons Unit, our Cyber Crimes Unit, and the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SCCSET) served a search warrant on Deanda’s home in San Jose and recovered stolen items – which we are not disclosing at this time – tying the suspect to these burglaries. Deanda was arrested without incident.

He was booked in to the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of narcotics.

“Our team’s relentless commitment to those who are victims of crime really shows here,” said Lt. Armando Espitia. “The team worked around the clock to identify this suspect and recover stolen property. I’m very proud of their hard work.”

This remains an ongoing investigation, and as such, more details will be released as we are able to make them available.
