On Monday, Aug 10, at 9:31 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received reporting flames coming from an exterior structure attached to a commercial building in the 1300 block of Grant Road.

Fire units were dispatched at 9:32 a.m. and arrived on the scene at 9:37 a.m. Units arrived to find an active fire in the exterior enclosure used to store utility meters and dumpsters to the rear of a commercial shopping building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames with a preconnected 1¾-inch fire attack hose line, preventing the fire from spreading into the businesses of the commercial structure.

The fire was extinguished with no injuries. The Mountain View Police Department provided traffic control for 60 minutes while fire units and equipment were on the scene.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. The estimated damage to the structure is $5,000.
