Mountain View — A solo vehicle injury accident occurred on Evelyn Avenue and Kittyhawk Way.
At around 5:20 a.m. today, Mountain View Police officers were dispatched to a solo vehicle collision that occurred on East Evelyn Avenue and Kittyhawk Way. Officers arrived at the location and found a vehicle collided with a tree.
Upon officers arriving, only one passenger remained in the vehicle. The passenger stated their foot was pinned in the front passenger seat area and needed assistance getting out of the vehicle. The City of Mountain View Fire Department extricated the passenger, who was then transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The owner of the vehicle was outside of the vehicle when officers arrived. They stated someone else was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver was a new acquaintance that fled on foot after the collision occurred. The driver was described as wearing all-black clothing with no further description.
Officers conducted an area search for the driver and were not able to locate them. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is encouraged to contact the police department at 650-903-6344.
