DESCRIPTION:<p>A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening for Downtown Mountain View’s first retail pop-up shop is scheduled for the first Saturday in February. </p><p><a href="https://www.momentpopup.com/mountain-view" target="_blank" title="MOMENT Mountain View website">MOMENT Mountain View</a> is a one-year retail pop-up program, and is part of the City of Mountain View’s efforts to activate vacant Downtown storefronts.</p><p>Saturday, Feb. 7<br>Noon: Ribbon-cutting Ceremony<br>1:00-8:00 p.m.: Public Grand Opening<br>MOMENT Mountain View<br>293 Castro St.</p><p>In collaboration with <a href="https://www.momentpopup.com/">MOMENT&nbsp;</a>, the pop-up shop is located at 293 Castro St. under the shared retail banner of “Don’t Eat Me.” The pop-up features four creative small businesses:</p><ul>    <li><b>Art by Julia</b> – cozy, nostalgic hand-drawn illustrations by a Taiwanese American artist </li>    <li><b>Derptiles</b> – art and merchandise celebrating reptiles, amphibians, and other niche animals </li>    <li><b>Karepango</b> – an AAPI-owned apparel and lifestyle brand offering bold illustrations and positive messaging </li>    <li><b>Notebeans</b> Stationery – stationery and art products that blend creativity with humanitarian causes </li></ul><p>The retail pop-up program initiative has been more than a year in the making and marks a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to address commercial vacancies.</p>
