Downtown Retail Pop-Up Grand Opening

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening for Downtown Mountain View’s first retail pop-up shop is scheduled for the first Saturday in February.

MOMENT Mountain View is a one-year retail pop-up program, and is part of the City of Mountain View’s efforts to activate vacant Downtown storefronts.

Saturday, Feb. 7
Noon: Ribbon-cutting Ceremony
1:00-8:00 p.m.: Public Grand Opening
MOMENT Mountain View
293 Castro St.

In collaboration with MOMENT , the pop-up shop is located at 293 Castro St. under the shared retail banner of “Don’t Eat Me.” The pop-up features four creative small businesses:

  • Art by Julia – cozy, nostalgic hand-drawn illustrations by a Taiwanese American artist
  • Derptiles – art and merchandise celebrating reptiles, amphibians, and other niche animals
  • Karepango – an AAPI-owned apparel and lifestyle brand offering bold illustrations and positive messaging
  • Notebeans Stationery – stationery and art products that blend creativity with humanitarian causes

The retail pop-up program initiative has been more than a year in the making and marks a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to address commercial vacancies.
